Aquatic Insects: EPT Index Elk River 1994-96 |

Caption:  The EPT Index is the number of taxa of mayflies, stoneflies and caddisflies, insect orders that are relatively intolerant of pollution. There was a range of aquatic health at the three sampling stations in 1994-96 when measurements were taken according to criteria established by Harrington (1999) who characterized communities with over 25 EPT taxa as healthy and diverse and those with fewer than 12 as non-diverse and impaired.
