Caption:  This chart shows surveys of the Garcia River Estuary cross-section XS-3. Surveys were conducted in 1991, 1995, and 1998. Jackson (1998) noted that "between 1991 and 1995 the cross section area remained the same. Between 1995 and 1998 the cross section area increased about 8%, indicating significant erosion." This indicates that the Garcia River is down cutting at this site also. Data are from Jackson (1998). See InfoLinks for more information.
