Caption:  This chart shows the floating weekly average temperature of Blue Waterhole Creek at FROG's Site #2, near the middle of the basin. The coolest years were 1999, 2001 and 1994 while warmer years were 1996, 1995 and 1997. Maximum floating weekly average temperature exceeded 17.0°C in all years, and exceeded 19.0°C in four of nine years. Based on a review of steelhead growth studies, Sullivan et al. (2000) found that compared to optimum temperatures, an MWAT of 17.0°C reduced steelhead growth by 10%, and an MWAT of 19.0°C reduced growth by 20%. Data contributed by the Friends of the Garcia River. See InfoLinks for more information or Maps to see locations.
