| Caption: This graph shows one-time sampling measurements of dissolved oxygen at five stations (going downstream from left to right) in Salmon Creek on June 22, 2001. The high dissolved oxygen at Highway 1 is consistent with pH values showing photosynthetic activity by algae because the 11 mg/l dissolved oxygen represents super-saturated conditions. The reference values represent the minimum North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (NCRWQCB) 2001 Basin Plan criterion for Cold water habitat (6.0 mg/L) and Warm water habitat (5.0 mg/L) (CRWQCB, 2001). In addition, waters with beneficial use designation of Spawning must meet a minimum criterion of 7.0 mg/L , plus a minimum of 9.0 mg/L during critical spawning and egg incubation periods. These data were collected by the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board as a part of the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP). See Info Links for more information. | |
