Caption: The Chart displays median bed surface particle sizes (D50) from Wolman pebble counts measured in Corte Madera Creek tributaries in 1999. Smaller and steeper streams typically have larger bed particles. In the absence of stream size, the above sites are listed by measured slope, which may be subject to high error. All streams sampled except Upper San Anselmo Creek have D50 distributions within the 15 to 45 mm size range defined as suitable for steelhead spawning habitat by Kondolf (2000). Data were collected by Stetson Engineers, Inc. Click Info Links for more information.
